Pokhara, 17 August | Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri is set to visit Nepal today. The visit, which comes at the invitation of Nepali Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, is reportedly in preparation for Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s upcoming visit to India. According to sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Misri is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Oli and Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba.
The primary objective of the visit is to discuss various aspects of the Nepal-India partnership. A statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Misri will hold talks with his counterpart, Amrit Bahadur Rai, to review bilateral relations. The visit is considered significant as it takes place ahead of Prime Minister Oli’s planned trip to India, scheduled from September 16 to 17.
