Pokhara, 9 September | In the wake of nationwide protests by the Gen-Z generation, angry protesters have set fire to the house of President Ramchandra Paudel in Boharatar. Following the death of 21 people from police gunfire, demonstrations across the country have turned more violent, leading to increasing incidents of vandalism and arson at government offices and leaders’ residences.

The protests are a response to the government’s ban on social media, widespread corruption, mismanagement, and the extravagant lifestyles of political leaders. The attack on President Paudel’s residence is a clear sign that the youth’s anger is now directed at all top leaders in power. Such violent incidents raise serious questions about the country’s political stability.
