Pokhara, 9 September | Madhesh Province Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh resigned from his post on September 9. In his resignation statement, he mentioned that he resigned under the instruction of Janamat Party Chairman Dr. CK Raut. Singh described the loss of lives of protesters during the Gen-Z movement nationwide as “unbearable pain” and stated that the current situation compelled him to take this step with self-respect.
In his resignation statement, Singh said, “The current situation where citizens’ lives could not be protected has forced me to take this decision with self-respect.” He reaffirmed his unwavering belief that nothing is more important than the lives of citizens. Singh also expressed his continued belief that dialogue and cooperation are the only way to solve the problems. He thanked everyone who supported him during his tenure and expressed his gratitude to the Janamat Party and its chairman, Dr. Raut, for giving him this opportunity. Singh’s resignation indicates that the Gen-Z movement is beginning to have a significant impact on political leaders.
