Pokhara, 5 October | Four trekkers from Bhaktapur, who were part of a group heading to the Langtang region, have gone missing after being swept away while attempting to cross the Bering Kholsa (stream) in Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-4, Rasuwa. According to Police Inspector Raju Shah of the District Police Office, Rasuwa, the incident occurred on Saturday involving members of a 16-person trekking team that had started their journey on Friday. The stream, which was swollen due to continuous rainfall, initially swept away eight individuals as they tried to cross it one by one.

Out of the eight people swept away, four managed to contact the authorities and reach safety. However, the four trekkers who remain missing have been identified as Sanskriti Shrestha, Kishan Shrestha, Sangita Shrestha (residents of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality), and Rabi Shrestha (resident of Bhaktapur-10). The District Police Office, Rasuwa, has immediately launched a search operation for the missing individuals. The police have indicated that the rescue and search efforts are proving challenging due to the strong current of the stream caused by the adverse weather. Authorities are continuously monitoring the situation and conducting intensive searches in the area with the aim of locating the missing trekkers as soon as possible.
