Pokhara, 19 October | The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has expanded its secretariat, with Acting President DP Aryal nominating four new members in accordance with Article 26 of the party’s statute. This decision, made by the Acting President, was presented at the party’s Central Committee meeting, which was held virtually on Saturday.

The newly nominated members include directly elected Members of Parliament: Sobita Gautam, Ganesh Parajuli, Shishir Khanal, and Hari Dhakal. All four were directly elected to the parliament in the last general election. According to RSP sources, the expansion was carried out by leveraging the party statute, which allows for the formation of a party secretariat with up to 25 members. The statute specifies that the party president, in addition to the elected office-bearers, treasurer, spokesperson, and the remaining members nominated from the Central Committee, can form the secretariat and inform the Central Committee. Prior to this expansion, the RSP had 10 secretariat members. The addition of the four members brings the total secretariat strength to 14. An RSP leader indicated that the president has the authority to add more members to the secretariat as deemed necessary, signaling a strengthening of the party’s internal organizational structure.
