Pokhara, 7 December| Ranveer Singh’s latest film, ‘Dhurandhar,’ has become the highest-opening film of his career, smashing previous box office records. According to Indian media, the film collected a net of ₹28.60 crore on its first day (Friday) at the Indian box office. The collections surged further on the second day (Saturday), earning a net of ₹33.10 crore, bringing the two-day net collection to a massive ₹61.70 crore.
Despite its lengthy three-and-a-half-hour runtime, the film has received positive responses from the audience, contributing to a lucrative opening weekend. This collection surpasses Ranveer’s previous highest opener, ‘Padmaavat,’ which had earned ₹24 crore. ‘Dhurandhar’ has also broken the opening records of ‘Simmba’ (₹20.72 crore) and ‘Gully Boy’ (₹19.26 crore). Furthermore, ‘Dhurandhar’ has recorded a worldwide collection of ₹40 crore, making it Ranveer’s best global opener to date. The film, made on a budget of ₹280 crore and released across 5,000 screens, had already garnered ₹9.23 crore through advance bookings alone. The film’s strong performance poses a major challenge to other releases like Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Tere Ishk Mein.’
