Pokhara, 5 February | Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, the coordinator of the newly formed Nepali Communist Party (NCP), has claimed that his party will emerge as the largest force in the upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5 (Falgun 21). Addressing a virtual meeting of the party’s Central Election Mobilization Committee today, Dahal asserted that the NCP would secure the highest number of seats without forming any electoral alliances or coordination with other political forces. He criticized those “rejected and despised by the people,” stating that a partnership with such elements is out of the question.

During the hour-long Zoom session, which began at 8:00 AM, Dahal expressed confidence that the NCP’s direct-seat count would surpass that of the CPN (UML), citing positive public responses. Co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that while political dialogues are ongoing, the party is determined to contest the elections independently. Leaders directed central members to mobilize with high spirits to ensure the victory of official candidates. The meeting, attended by all central committee members, marks a significant strategic push as the party prepares for its first major electoral test.
