Pokhara, 9 September | Tribhuvan International Airport is being prepared for closure due to security concerns. According to a high-ranking official from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, the decision was made in response to ongoing fires in areas including Gothatar and other circumstances that have become unfavorable for air safety.
The airport will allow flights currently in the sky to land, but no further take-offs will be permitted. The main gate of the airport is set to be closed to halt all other activities. The airport is currently under the protection of the Nepal Army. This move is expected to cause significant disruption to air travel and reflects the severity of the widespread unrest throughout the country.
