Pokhara, 13 July | The SciTech Society of Prithvi Narayan Campus (PNC), Pokhara, successfully organized a Public Speaking Workshop on Friday, July 10, 2026 (2083 Ashadh 26), at 11:00 AM in the Science Seminar Hall, Room No. 147, White House Building, Prithvi Narayan Campus. The workshop was conducted with the objective of strengthening students’ communication abilities, developing leadership qualities, and enhancing their confidence in public speaking through practical learning activities.
The workshop was formally inaugurated under the chairmanship of Mr. Sujit Prasad Kushwaha. Mr. Bijay Bahadur Thapa attended the program as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Khadka Bahadur Chhetri, Head of the Department of Physics at Prithvi Narayan Campus, participated as the Special Guest. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Prakash Chandra Giri, an instructional designer and PhD scholar at Pokhara University, who facilitated the entire session through an engaging and interactive approach.
A total of 49 students, along with executive members of the SciTech Society, actively participated in the workshop. Throughout the session, the facilitator highlighted the importance of effective communication in academic, professional, and personal life. Participants were introduced to practical techniques for delivering impactful speeches, engaging audiences, organizing ideas, managing stage anxiety, improving voice delivery, and building self-confidence. The workshop combined discussions with hands-on speaking exercises, enabling students to apply the concepts immediately and receive constructive feedback.
Addressing the participants, the organizers stated that communication and public speaking are essential competencies for students pursuing higher education and preparing for future careers. They noted that such capacity-building programs contribute significantly to students’ overall personality development by helping them become more confident speakers, better presenters, and responsible future leaders. The organizers further emphasized that the SciTech Society remains committed to organizing academic and skill-oriented activities that complement classroom learning and encourage students to develop practical competencies alongside their academic knowledge.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the practical nature of the workshop, describing it as an informative and confidence-building learning experience. Many students shared that the interactive exercises helped them overcome hesitation and better understand the fundamentals of effective public speaking. They also requested the society to continue organizing similar workshops on communication, leadership, and professional skill development in the future.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the organizing committee, which acknowledged the valuable contributions of the chief guest, special guest, resource person, participating students, and all individuals involved in making the event successful. The successful completion of the workshop once again reflected the SciTech Society PNC’s ongoing commitment to promoting innovation, communication skills, leadership development, and holistic student growth through meaningful extracurricular initiatives.
