Pokhara, 11 February | Lekhnath Dahal, a prominent leader of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and the official candidate for Sindhuli Constituency No. 2, has delivered a stern warning to those challenging the party’s official decisions. Speaking at a program organized by the Sindhuli-Kathmandu Liaison Coordination Committee in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Dahal asserted that individuals who betray the party by fielding rebel candidacies will not be allowed to return to the party folds after the election. He emphasized that the party will show no leniency toward those who engage in anti-party activities under the guise of independence or dissent.

Dahal clarified that his nomination for Sindhuli-2 was based strictly on the recommendations of the lower committees and the final decision of the party leadership. He maintained that fulfilling his party responsibility was not a crime and that he had followed all due procedures. During his address, he revealed that he had reached out to Haribol Gajurel multiple times to reach a consensus, but those efforts were rebuffed. Despite the ongoing friction, Dahal noted that there is still a window for rebel candidates like Maheshwar Dahal and Gajurel to correct their mistakes and support the party’s official line before the polling day on 5 March.

Critiquing the performance of previous administrations, leader Dahal stated that past governance failures had left the country in a state of ruin. He expressed confidence that the public would not repeat the mistake of voting for those responsible for such decline. According to Dahal, a clear majority for the NCP is essential to effectively implement the constitution and translate the party’s progressive ideologies into practice. He concluded the event by urging all party cadres and well-wishers to mobilize effectively at the grassroots level to ensure a decisive victory and safeguard the party’s political future.
