Pokhara, 9 September | Despite the indefinite curfew imposed in Kathmandu following the violent incident that killed 19 people on Monday, Gen-Z youth protests are continuing today. Ignoring the curfew order, the young people have gathered in the Baneshwor area, right in front of the Parliament building. The Kathmandu District Administration Office has issued a curfew order in various parts of the valley, but the youth are determined to continue their movement.
Yesterday’s violent event caused serious concern nationwide, and today’s protests are putting further pressure on the government. This action by the youth sends a clear message that they will not back down from their demands. This situation compels the government to come to the negotiating table with the protesters. Such a development also raises security concerns, forcing the administration to exercise increased vigilance and caution.
