Pokhara, 25 December| In a significant political development, the President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Ravi Lamichhane, and the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah (Balen), are currently engaged in a high-level meeting. The discussion is taking place at the residence of Kumar Ben, an aide to Mayor Shah, located in Jwagal, Lalitpur. The meeting is reportedly focused on the current political landscape of the country and the potential for collaboration between emerging alternative political forces.
Amidst the ongoing dialogue between the two leaders, Amaresh Kumar Singh, a member of the dissolved House of Representatives, also reached the meeting venue. While Singh’s arrival has added a new dimension to the gathering, Lamichhane and Shah are currently holding a private ‘one-on-one’ talk to discuss strategic political issues. Observers are closely monitoring this meeting as it could signal a new alliance or understanding between the country’s most prominent young political figures. The leaders are expected to deliberate on future roadmaps and the role of independent and alternative voices in the current governance structure.
