Pokhara, 4 August । Nepali PUBG team Hora Esports has achieved an impressive ninth-place finish at the PUBG Mobile World Cup, held in Saudi Arabia as part of the Esports World Cup. The team’s strong performance was highlighted by a ‘chicken dinner’ victory in the final match of the last day, bringing their total score to 100 points across 18 games in the grand finals. This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone for Nepali esports on the international stage.

Hora Esports’ journey to the finals was not straightforward; they initially finished 13th in the group stage. However, they dominated the survival stage, securing a spot in the finals by winning it outright. The team’s overall earnings from the tournament amount to a substantial $127,500 USD, which is equivalent to approximately NRs 17.89 million. This prize money includes $27,500 from the group stage, $25,000 from the survival stage, $15,000 from a show match, and $60,000 for their ninth-place finish in the finals.

In the survival stage, Hora Esports accumulated 108 points with two chicken dinners over 12 matches, a performance that secured their spot among the top eight teams to advance. The PUBG Mobile World Cup title was ultimately claimed by Myanmar’s YG Esports. Hora Esports’ exceptional performance has garnered immense pride and attention, demonstrating the growing potential of Nepali esports talent.
