Pokhara, 23 August | The ‘Ajeenkya Admission Fair Nepal 2025: With AI/ML/AR/VR/CS Workshop’ has commenced in Pokhara, targeting the immense career opportunities in the rapidly evolving field of information technology (IT). Held at the Pokhara Event Center in Buloudi from Bhadra 17-18, the fair aims to provide free, cutting-edge training to students and pave the way for their higher education and career development. Jointly organized by Deep IT and Educational Consultancy, Deep Computer Institute, and Capital Education and Migration, the event is sponsored by Ajeenkya DY Patil University and Veloces Consulting Services from India, with collaboration from the globally renowned IT company Microsoft.
According to the World Economic Forum’s ‘The Future of Jobs Report 2023,’ while technological advancements are leading to job losses in many sectors, there’s a rapid increase in demand for tech-related professions such as AI/ML specialists, information security analysts, and business intelligence experts. The report projects that by 2027, technology will transform approximately 23% of jobs worldwide. Furthermore, the International Data Corporation (IDC) forecasts that global AI spending will reach $632 billion by 2028, with the AI infrastructure market alone exceeding $200 billion. This exponential growth in technology has also fueled a surge in demand for cybersecurity professionals. The International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) reported in September 2024 that despite a global cybersecurity workforce of 5.5 million, there is a talent gap of 4.8 million, highlighting a critical need for skilled professionals in areas like AI security, cloud security, and data security. These statistics clearly indicate that acquiring skills in IT, AI/ML, AR/VR, and cybersecurity is the key to securing high-paying, future-proof jobs. This workshop is designed to help Nepali students seize these opportunities.
A key highlight of the fair is the direct training provided by international experts from leading universities and technology companies. Professors and specialists from Microsoft, Veloces Consulting, and Ajeenkya DY Patil University are in Nepal to conduct these workshops, offering students a unique opportunity to gain international-level experience right here in their home country. The training will cover five crucial and in-demand fields: Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Cyber Security (CS). The organizers state that the knowledge gained from these sessions will open up boundless opportunities for students in fields such as IT, engineering, data science, robotics, health tech, and fintech.
The program is completely free of charge, as confirmed by the organizers. Students who have recently passed their +2 exams in Science or Management (Computer) streams, as well as those who passed the previous year, are eligible to participate at no cost. According to Dinesh Lamichhane, CEO of Deep IT and Educational Consultancy, the primary objective of this initiative is to connect students with world-class, technology-based education and give their careers a new direction. The event is structured to be accessible and convenient for all. Following the two-day event in Pokhara, the workshop will take place in Kathmandu on Bhadra 20 and 21 at Diyo Mahal. Over the four-day period, the workshop will be held in two sessions daily: a morning session from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM and an afternoon session from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Students can choose a session that best fits their schedule. Each 40-minute session will be followed by a 10-minute break with fun, relevant games and activities to keep participants engaged and energetic.
In addition to the free workshop, students have the chance to secure scholarships and on-the-spot admissions. Those interested in pursuing their B. Tech Engineering at Ajeenkya DY Patil University can consult with representatives at the fair and make an immediate decision with their guardians. Through this spot admission process, students can avail of scholarships of up to NPR 3.5 lakhs, making an international university education more affordable than even some Nepali IT colleges. The organizers expect approximately 400 students to attend each day, with a total of over 1,600 students benefiting from the event in Pokhara and Kathmandu combined. This is an unprecedented opportunity for recent and previous year +2 graduates. The organizers urge students not to miss this life-changing chance and to pre-register by visiting https://deepconsultancy.com.np/workshop/.
The ‘Ajeenkya Admission Fair Nepal 2025’ is more than just an admissions event; it is a platform for building students’ futures. With free participation, international-level training, significant scholarship opportunities, career guidance, and direct interaction with IT industry leaders, the program is poised to be a landmark event for students. It aims to inspire them to fulfill their dreams and unleash their potential. The organizers extended their gratitude to all the journalists present at the press conference in Pokhara, emphasizing that their cooperation is crucial for the success of the event. At a time when Nepal’s service-based and digital-related job market is showing strong potential, initiatives like this play a vital role in guiding students toward the right path and contributing to the nation’s digital development.
