Pokhara, 9 September | The Lalitpur District Administration Office has extended the curfew from 7 AM this morning until midnight today, September 9. According to Chief District Officer Suman Ghimire, the curfew order was issued to maintain peace and order within specific areas of Lalitpur Metropolitan City’s Wards 2, 4, 9, 18, and 25. The curfew in the Bhaisepati area (Wards 4, 18, and 25) restricts movement within a boundary defined by the road from Bhaisepati to Bungamati in the east, the CG Housing and Chobhar Galchhi road in the west, the Bishnudevi temple below Gayatri Petrol Pump in Ekantakuna to the north, and the downhill road to Itani in the south.
Similarly, a curfew has been imposed in the Sanepa area (Ward 2), specifically around Indrani Marg, prohibiting gatherings, processions, protests, or meetings. This area is bounded by the road from Sanepa Chowk to Indrani Temple, the Bagmati Corridor road from Balkhu Bridge to Manmohan Park, the Ring Road service lane, and the paved road from Indrani Temple to the Bagmati Corridor. In the Chyasal area (Ward 9), the curfew applies to the area between the suspension bridge of the Manohara River Corridor, Chyasal Stadium, Manohara River, and the road to the Western Mall Pond. The order prohibits all activities except for essential services, which is expected to significantly impact the daily lives of residents in these areas.
