Pokhara, 9 September | Amid the ongoing political uncertainty and the Gen-Z movement, the opposition party Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has announced the resignation of all its Members of Parliament. According to RPP Chief Whip Gyan Bahadur Shahi, all 42 of the party’s MPs, including those from both federal and provincial levels, have resigned. This move signifies a further deepening of the country’s political crisis.
The Gen-Z-led protests against widespread corruption and the government’s repressive policies have increased pressure on political parties. The RPP’s decision strengthens the anti-government movement and could cause a major shake-up in the current political coalition.
