Pokhara, 7 December| Manav Sewa Ashram, which has been running the ‘Humanity Promotion Mega Campaign’ with the aim of making Nepal a street-human-free nation, has expanded its network to 30 service centers across 21 districts. Ramji Adhikari, the Central Chairman of the Ashram, informed that new centers were added this year in Raniban, Kathmandu, and Dharan, Sunsari. Founded in 2073 BS (2016 AD) in Hetauda, the Ashram currently shelters over two thousand incapacitated, destitute, and guardian-less individuals across its centers nationwide. Chairman Adhikari expressed the Ashram’s commitment to making Nepal a ‘country of humanity’ and is confident that they will soon achieve the goal of declaring Nepal a street-human-free nation.
Alongside the expansion of branches, the construction of the Ashram’s own buildings is actively underway. Co-Treasurer Sumira Lama stated that buildings in Hetauda (Central Office), Rupandehi, and Chitwan are already operational, while construction is progressing in several districts including Morang, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Surkhet, and the Gandaki Province districts of Kaski, Baglung, Lamjung, and Gorkha. A recent Srimad Bhagwat Saptaha Gyan Vigyan Mahayagya held in Baglung successfully raised Rs 97.77 million for the ongoing construction of the Ashram’s building there. The Ashram provides management, medical care, and sustenance for street-dependent humans. To date, the Ashram has facilitated the reunion of over 2,800 individuals with their families and over 2,200 have left voluntarily after treatment. The Ashram’s short-term plans include the declaration of a street-human-free Nepal and the establishment of a Humanity Study Center.
