Pokhara, 25 December| Former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has stated that he will appear before the inquiry commission formed to investigate the incidents that took place on September 8 and 9 (Bhadra 23 and 24). Speaking with media persons at the Nepali Congress central office in Sanepa on Thursday, Lekhak confirmed that he has decided to cooperate with the commission’s request to provide information regarding the events. He emphasized that as the commission has summoned him for questioning, it is his responsibility to assist in the investigation process.
Although the commission had initially requested his presence for Friday, the former minister clarified that he has rescheduled the appointment due to his current commitments. He informed the press that he has communicated his availability for the upcoming Monday. “They had called me for tomorrow, but I have requested to come on Monday instead. I will be visiting the commission on the 14th to provide my statement,” Lekhak added. His participation is seen as a significant step in the ongoing probe into the security and political aspects of the mentioned incident.
