Pokhara, 26 December| Vietnam has solidified its status as a premier year-end holiday destination for families across Asia and beyond, recording a significant surge in tourism interest for the 2025-2026 festive season. According to a new report by Agoda, searches conducted between September and November for stays in December 2025 and January 2026 revealed a 30 percent year-on-year increase in family travel interest toward Vietnam. This growth underscores the country’s rising appeal due to its family-oriented infrastructure, diverse landscapes, and rich cultural experiences. Vu Ngoc Lam, Agoda’s Country Director for Vietnam, noted that the data reflects a global recognition of the country’s hospitality and family-friendly attractions, further strengthening its position on the international travel map.

Market-wise, South Korea leads as the top country showing interest in visiting Vietnam during this period, followed by India, Singapore, Australia, and Malaysia. Notably, Indian families have exhibited the most dramatic growth, with search interest skyrocketing by 186 percent compared to the previous year. Malaysian travelers also showed robust growth at 74 percent. This influx is attributed to Vietnam’s storied culinary scene and an abundance of high-quality resorts tailored for children and seniors alike. Among the most sought-after domestic spots, Phu Quoc Island ranked first with a 47 percent increase in searches, favored for its serene beaches and nature parks. Da Nang followed closely with a 42 percent growth, drawing families with its mix of beach relaxation and adventure at the Ba Na Hills theme park.

The report also highlighted popular stops such as the coastal city of Nha Trang and the bustling Ho Chi Minh City, which remains a favorite for its food tours and proximity to the Mekong Delta. In northern Vietnam, the capital city of Hanoi continues to attract visitors with its historic museums and festive year-end atmosphere. Meanwhile, an interesting shift was observed in outbound travel trends; while Vietnamese families typically wait for the Lunar New Year to travel abroad, there has been a notable spike in interest toward China this December. Searches for Shanghai and Beijing rose by 58 and 59 percent respectively, fueled by newly launched direct flights from Hanoi. As direct connectivity improves and travel platforms become more intuitive, Vietnam is successfully capturing the hearts of multi-generational travelers seeking meaningful holiday memories.
