Pokhara, 4 January | Manohari Paudel has been officially selected as the Vice President of the Buddha Bishal Bazar Business Association following a legal resolution regarding the executive position. The appointment was finalized after the candidacy of Raju K.C., an initial contender for the position during the 14th general convention, was declared ineligible. According to Association President Buddhi Bahadur Kunwar, K.C.’s candidacy was found to be inconsistent with the organization’s bylaws. Consequently, following the formal decision, commentary, and orders issued by the District Administration Office Kaski, the candidacy was annulled, paving the way for the appointment of Paudel under Article 31 of the Association’s Constitution of 2056 BS.
The newly appointed Vice President, Manohari Paudel, brings a wealth of experience in both the commercial and social sectors of Pokhara. He has previously served as the spokesperson for the Association and is currently an executive board member of the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Beyond the business community, Paudel holds several leadership roles, including the Presidency of the Trilokeshwar Shiva Temple in Pokhara-28 and being the founding President of the Surkemaidan Srijanshil Club in Kalika. Furthermore, he is a Provincial Council Member of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Kaski and serves as the Associate Editor of Nepalaya News.com, demonstrating his active involvement in local media and journalism.
Upon his selection, Paudel expressed his deep commitment to upholding the rule of law and organizational regulations. He noted that while he initially faced biased treatment from the election committee coordinator during the convention process, he felt vindicated by the fair intervention of the District Administration Office. Paudel emphasized that his tenure would focus on institutional growth and the safeguarding of the rights and welfare of all entrepreneurs within Buddha Bishal Bazar. This appointment completes the executive team led by President Buddhi Bahadur Kunwar, which includes General Secretary Thaman Singh Gurung, Secretary Shanti Shrestha, Treasurer Govinda Dahal, and a dedicated team of board members elected during the recent convention.
