Pokhara, 28 January | The preparations for a grand gathering and reunion of the former students of Shri Janajyoti Secondary School, established in 1959 (2016 BS) in Kalika, Pokhara Metropolitan City-28, have reached their final stages. Organized by the Janajyoti Secondary School Alumni Forum, the mega event, which includes a reunion and picnic, is scheduled to take place this coming Saturday, February 7, at the Namaste Party Palace in Pokhara-26. This historic gathering aims to bring together thousands of alumni who have passed through the gates of this prestigious institution over the last six decades. Providing details about the event, the coordinator of the Alumni Forum, Kirti Ballabh Tripathi, stated that this event is a monumental opportunity to unite students from all generations under a single umbrella, reconnecting emotional bonds and organizing them into a cohesive institutional body. He emphasized that the gathering is not merely a social meet-up but a powerful initiative linked to the future prosperity of the school, aiming to elevate its dignity by merging the memories, experiences, and contributions of multiple generations onto a shared platform.

To ensure the success of the program, a six-member Financial and Registration Sub-committee has been formed under the coordination of the Forum’s Co-coordinator, Shyam Prasad Timalsena. The committee includes dedicated members such as Rajendra Adhikari, Balkrishna Tripathi, Shukraraj Adhikari, Manohari Paudel, and Sagar Adhikari, who are working tirelessly to manage the logistics and participant enrollment. The Secretary of the Forum, Guru Prasad Tripathi, remarked that the primary objective of the event is to expand mutual harmony, brotherhood, and networking among students who have studied at the school since its inception. He noted that gathering at a single venue after a long period provides a unique chance to refresh old memories, share diverse life experiences, and significantly strengthen the sense of ownership and belonging toward their alma mater. The organizers believe that the collective wisdom of the alumni can serve as a guiding light for the current and future students of the school.

According to coordinator Shyam Prasad Timalsena, invitations and information are being disseminated through various channels, including formal letters, social media, and direct personal contact, to ensure that every former student is informed. The event program is set to feature various cultural performances, interactive introduction sessions, sharing of nostalgic moments, and discussions regarding the future strategic plans of the school. The Forum aims to ensure the participation of alumni currently residing across the country and abroad, who are engaged in various professions, businesses, and services. The long-term goal of the Forum is to maintain regular contact and cooperation among alumni to provide substantial support for the educational, physical, and social development of Janajyoti Secondary School in the coming years.

Janajyoti Secondary School, which began participating in the SLC examinations in 1969 (2026 BS), has a long and storied educational journey. Over the decades, thousands of its graduates have established themselves as successful personalities in various sectors of society. The organizers anticipate the participation of nearly two thousand alumni, including those who may have left their studies midway, and over a thousand students spanning three different generations. Situated against the breathtaking backdrop of Mt. Machhapuchhre, the school is recognized as a distinctive institution in Kaski district, known for its natural beauty and academic excellence. Despite its rural setting, the school has consistently provided quality education, contributing significantly to social transformation. The locals credit the school’s emphasis on discipline, hard work, and social values for producing capable and responsible citizens.
