Pokhara, 13 February | With the House of Representatives election fast approaching on March 5 (Falgun 21), Tilak Ranabhat, the Nepali Congress candidate for Kaski Constituency No. 1, has significantly ramped up his door-to-door election campaign. After successfully concluding voter interactions across all wards of Madi and Rupa Rural Municipalities, Ranabhat has now shifted his primary focus to the Lekhnath area, aiming to strengthen his connection with the urban and semi-urban electorate. During these interactions, he emphasized a listener-first approach, stating that his campaign is driven by the specific demands and aspirations of the local citizens rather than pre-determined political promises.
Ranabhat expressed his satisfaction with the high level of voter engagement and the constructive suggestions he has been collecting during his visits. “Instead of making tall promises, I am moving forward according to the needs of the people, visiting them at their doorsteps to understand their realities,” Ranabhat remarked during a recent meeting. Supporting his bid, various local units of the party have also initiated intensive publicity campaigns at the ward level to consolidate the party’s vote bank in the region.
In a parallel development, the Nepal Women’s Association organized a significant gathering in Pokhara-31 to mobilize female voters for the upcoming polls. The event was attended by prominent leaders including former central member Guru Baral, Gandaki Province Treasurer Mitralal Sapkota, and leader Loknath Pandey. The gathering focused on themes of women’s empowerment, organizational expansion, and the crucial role of women in ensuring a victory for the party in the upcoming election. Chaired by women leader Sudha Thapa, the program saw participation from local activists who pledged their active support for Ranabhat’s candidacy, further heating up the electoral atmosphere in Kaski-1.
