Pokhara, 13 February | Nepal is currently experiencing a partial influence of westerly winds, leading to varying weather conditions across the country. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces are witnessing partly cloudy skies today. In the Terai region, thick fog and mist are expected to prevail until midday, which could partially affect daily life and transportation. While the rest of the country will remain mostly fair, cloudy conditions are forecasted for Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces during the afternoon.
At night, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces. Since no significant rainfall is predicted for the plains and valleys in the immediate future, the division warned that air pollution levels are likely to remain high. Residents of the Terai and urban valleys have been advised to take necessary precautions against deteriorating air quality. Additionally, travelers in the Terai region are urged to be cautious of poor visibility due to persistent fog in the morning and haze at night.
