Pokhara, 16 February | CPN (UML) Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has characterized the upcoming election as a “great battle” between forces dedicated to building the nation and those intent on destroying it. Speaking at a meeting with leaders of the Dhimal community in Damak, Jhapa, Chairman Oli emphasized that this election is not merely about choosing representatives but is a critical choice between those who allocate budgets for development and those who scrap them. He accused the current government of unauthorizedly slashing millions in funds that his administration had previously allocated for the Dhimal museum, homestays, and local road infrastructure.

Chairman Oli specifically highlighted that a budget of 30 million rupees earmarked for Dhimal homestays was removed immediately after he left office. He criticized the ruling coalition for obstructing national progress and labeled his electoral opponents as part of the same team responsible for these budgetary cuts and social instability. Urging the public to remain vigilant, Oli stated that voters are well aware of which leaders prioritize genuine development and which ones work against the people’s interests. He concluded by asserting that the forthcoming election would serve as a mandate to promote nation-building forces while discouraging those who hinder prosperity.
