Pokhara, 19 February | The Nepali Congress has publicly released its election manifesto for the upcoming House of Representatives election, presenting a comprehensive document titled with ten visionary points from the historic and cultural city of Janakpurdham on Wednesday. The manifesto launch took place in the presence of party President Gagan Kumar Thapa, Vice-President and Election Mobilization Committee Coordinator Bishwa Prakash Sharma, Vice-President Pushpa Bhusal, along with the Madhesh Province President and other senior leaders, marking a significant moment in the party’s campaign strategy.
Following the unveiling in Janakpurdham the party organized a press conference at its Sanepa central office where spokesperson Devraj Chalise elaborated on the ten visions and their underlying commitments. Congress has set an ambitious goal of forming a majority government that remains fully dedicated to democratic values and public welfare through this general election. Chalise asserted that this manifesto unlike previous ones carries clear meaning in every word and reflects a strong sense of responsibility vision and resolve to transform Nepal into one of the world’s finest nations. He emphasized that the party has crafted realistic action plans and solid foundations to achieve this dream adding that performance of the party leaders and workers should ultimately be evaluated based on how faithfully these pledges are implemented once in power.
The manifesto boldly promises a journey from a Nepal where citizens can live with dignity to a prosperous and advancing nation. Congress insists this is not merely a document for show but a genuine commitment to translate the slogan of a dignified Nepal and prosperous Nepalis into tangible reality. Chalise stated clearly that the party wants voters and the general public to judge its entire leadership and cadre on the basis of manifesto implementation in the coming days. He assured that Congress will never evade responsibility by citing vague or abstract excuses insisting the party stands firmly accountable for every promise made. The document has been presented in simple language under the banner of ‘Vision Ten’ which the party describes as the foundational stone of ‘Congress 2.0’ representing a successful revival and the determination to realize the future desired by the people.
The ten visions outlined in the manifesto include firstly a Nepal where people can live with honor and dignity secondly a Nepal that encourages dreaming big thirdly a nation that promotes wealth and job creation fourthly a country that feeds its farmers fully and brings them global recognition fifthly a supportive Nepal providing medicine and shelter sixthly an education system where parents face no financial burden for children’s schooling seventhly a rule of law free from irregularities and harassment eighthly a modern Nepal proud of its unique heritage ninthly a self-respecting Nepal respected worldwide and tenthly a Nepal steadily progressing towards prosperity. These points collectively aim to address core aspirations of ordinary citizens from basic livelihood to national pride and long-term development. Party leaders expressed confidence that this manifesto will resonate strongly with voters seeking meaningful change and accountable governance in the current political landscape.
