Pokhara, 21 July: The first Monday of Shrawan month today has witnessed a significant gathering of devotees at Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu and other Shiva temples across the country since early morning. Shrawan is considered the sacred month of Lord Shiva, and Monday is his preferred day, leading to a large influx of worshippers and devotees at Pashupatinath for darshan and prayers.

This day holds special significance for the worship and adoration of Lord Shiva. While the tradition of observing Monday fasts in Nepal generally follows the solar calendar, Pashupatinath Temple experiences considerable crowds on Shrawan Mondays according to both lunar and solar calendars. This year, the month of Shrawan will have four Mondays.
