Pokhara, 5 October | The Nepali National Women’s Cricket Team is set to face Malaysia today in the third match of the International T20 Series. The five-match series is currently balanced at a 1-1 tie, making today’s game crucial in determining which team will gain the overall lead. Nepal secured a commanding six-wicket victory in the second match, bouncing back strongly from a narrow defeat in the opening game.
Nepal’s win in Saturday’s second match successfully levelled the series. In that game, Malaysia batted first, setting a target of 92 runs. The Nepali side chased this target down comfortably, reaching 93 runs for the loss of just four wickets in 16.2 overs. This win was a significant improvement after their disappointment in the first match on Thursday, where Nepal was defeated by a slim three-run margin. In that series opener, Nepal was chasing a target of 105 runs but was restricted to 101 runs for five wickets at the end of their 20 overs. The Nepali team is now focused on securing a victory today to take a 2-1 lead in the series, maintaining the positive momentum gained from their recent win.
